Product Review: Duluth Trading Co. Armachillo Shirt

Someone at the Duluth Trading Co. clearly follows my Facebook page because they contacted me several weeks ago and offered to send me one of the shirts in their new Armachillo clothing line. They explained how the new line is specially designed to keep the wearer cool in the summer, and thought I would be interested in 'farm-testing' it since we're here in Virginia and I'm outside for a good part of each day.

A really pretty blue plaid long-sleeved shirt arrived several days later.  Very lightweight,  Armachillo shirts have microscopic pieces of Jade embedded in them so they stay cool and actually wick heat away from your body.  Designed for the heat and humidity in Texas, I was excited to see how it held up in our Virginia heat and humidity.  The shirt was beautiful and fit perfectly. I immediately went to work testing it to see if it would live up to the buzz.  For the next few weeks, I literally lived in this shirt.

I wore it gardening in the hot sun...

I wore it on cooler days with a tee underneath...

I wore it when I built our new duck pen...

I even wore it to snuggle our baby ducklings!

I washed it and threw it in the dryer several times. It dries really quickly and doesn't need ironing to look good.   It is super comfortable and slightly fitted, so it's perfect to wear for a quick run to the feed store, but with underarm gussets and a mesh bi-swing back so your movement is never constricted, it's perfect for all kinds of farm chores.  It also has antimicrobial properties to combat stinky sweat!

It really is the perfect work shirt for around the farm....and the best part is - it matches all my jeans! It is now my go-to shirt that I grab most mornings. I am really impressed with the Duluth Trading Co. Armachillo shirt. Rugged, practical and made for working women!  Thank you Duluth Trading Co. for reaching out to me and sending me the shirt to try ...now I just might have to buy one in a different color for a change of pace!

This is a sponsored product review. I was provided an Armachillo plaid shirt by the Duluth Trading Co. to try out and review, however all opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way by anything other than my personal observations.

  1. They are one of my favorite companies, I had wondered about that item, thanks for the review. As a fellow Virginian, I grew up in rural Virginia Beach and now live on a 30 acre farm west of Blacksburg, I love following your blog.

  4. Well aren't you a lucky girl! It looks very feminine on you too. How cool is that to have a 'work' shirt that looks so nice :-) I love Duluth, their quality is outstanding and their catalog is so entertaining too, lol.

    1. Well, thank you! I find it convenient that I can pop out to do errands and not feel like a total slob - at least I always match!

  5. Thanks for the review I'm not so sure about the length of the sleeves; but if it works it Texas, it should work in Louisiana.
I don't sweat, so I'm always looking for ways to stay cool.

    1. You know, they asked me if I wanted a short or long sleeve. I went with long because I'm often pulling poison ivy or oak, in the berry patch or worried about getting sunburned or attacked by our rooster. I figured I could roll up the sleeves if I wanted to and I'm glad I went with the long sleeve version because the shirt really IS very cooling.

  6. Thank you for the review. I've always gone to Duluth for quality items for my husband and son but never for myself. I definitely want to try one of these shirts. It gets more humid than it used to in the New River Valley of Virginia. Your blog is the best! Thanks for keeping us informed.

  7. While Duluth is pricey, the quality is great. My son found about their firehose work pants. Now he wears them to do all his farm chores and they are great!

  8. I don't know if they make large enough shirts for me, but I love the color!

  9. I love this shirt in all four colors but $65 for one shirt is too much for my little budget :(
