Fingerless Gloves Made by Meg

Several months ago I saw Meg's gorgeous handknit fingerless gloves on Etsy. Being a fairly accomplished knitter myself, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful colors, intricate pattern and quality craftsmanship. I contacted Meg and she turned out to be a sweetheart. She sent me two pair of gloves to 'review'. She also agreed to send THREE lucky winners a pair of gloves in the color of their choice!


Fingerless gloves have all kinds of uses around the farm. Regular gloves or mittens just aren't functional when you need to untie baling string, open small latches, take a photo, answer your cell phone or any of the other myriad of chores that we all do around our homesteads.

I love to feel the warmth of a freshly laid egg....


I love the softness of my hens' feathers....


I love to feel downy duck bellies....

I love to feel the sticky horse feed run through my fingers. (better sticky fingers than sticky gloves right?)...

I love to feel our horses' soft noses at they nuzzle for a treat....

And of course I need my finger free to take photos on my cell phone!

Bottom line, sometimes I just need my fingers to be free and Megs' gloves do just that while keeping my hands and wrists toasty warm.   And just look at these colors!

    How to choose just one color!!! I love Dusty Blue Cable. And you forgot the most important reason for needing fingerless gloves! It is near impossible to type on a netbook/computer with gloves when my hands get cold at night! :-D

  62. visited Made By Meg's site...WOW!...the Oatmeal fingerless gloves are my favorite (although my fav color changes each day). So clever to knit a mug cozy!! Grandmother had a tea cozy when I was a youngster. Would have loved to pull out a pair of Mug Cozies when I went over for tea!

    1. Cable is really not that hard once you have the basics down. It looks alot more complicated than it is. Try a pattern that includes easy cable. I think you might really enjoy it.

I hate shoes and socks, it feels like my feet are in a bind and the pins and needles I feel and th numbness, I bet your socks you work wonders.
