Hi Jan. Thank you, I can imagine that out West is a bit different. And sadly, yes, I don't find chicken palatable anymore. Which is why I know we will never raise cows or pigs. I like bacon cheeseburgers too much to give them up!
Ah - I thought that might be the case. I guess I like chicken too much to ever raise them, then, but I do love chickens. They just make me smile and sometimes the expression on a chicken's face with just crack me up. When I lived in Ohio, the porch across the front of my house was enclosed. I kept all kinds of chicken knick-nacks out there and called it my chicken coop. It was so much fun scouting thrift stores and flea markets for my newest chicken. Sure do miss that!
I have a question regarding those blue containers on your fence. I'm getting a mother and son miniature donkeys and was wondering if those containers were for food or water. Any advice or helpful tips are very much appreciated as I'll be a first-time donkey mom.
Oh how exciting for you! I so want miniature donkeys...in addition to rabbits, goats and a corgi!
They are feed containers and work great for the horses. They would be perfect for donkeys as well since you can hang them on the middle or even lower fence board for the short ones! TSC probably sells them. We had a trough for our horses, but the ducks swim in it now,so the horses drink of of regular plastic buckets.
